3D printing advice – the right method, material and design

Not every part suits 3D printing – and those that do can often be designed smarter. We help you choose right from the start.

Can the part be 3D printed?

We look at size, load, temperature, environment and quantity. Sometimes 3D printing is perfect, sometimes CNC or injection moulding is better – and then we’ll tell you.

Design for 3D printing

The right wall thickness, radii instead of sharp corners, orientation for strength and tolerances for fit make a big difference. Small changes can halve the price or double the strength.

Cost and time

We show what drives the price of your particular part and which choices lower it. Advice is always included when you request a quote.

How the advice works

Send a file, a photo or a short description via the contact form. Describe where the part will go, the temperature and load it faces and how many you need. We reply with a suggested material and method, what affects the price and whether anything in the design should change.

Honest answers

If 3D printing is the wrong route for your part, we’ll say so – even if it means you order elsewhere. A straight answer early saves both time and money.

Common questions we help with

  • Which material withstands heat, sun or chemicals?
  • How dense or strong will the part be?
  • What tolerances are realistic?
  • Should the part be split or printed in one piece?
Instant price: upload your file to the calculator – choose material, colour and infill and see the price in seconds.

Frequently asked questions

Does the advice cost anything?

No, advice given with a quote is included. Larger design jobs are charged by the hour by agreement.

Can you review my CAD file?

Yes, send the file and we’ll suggest improvements before printing.

Do you help schools and students?

Yes, we’re happy to explain and help with theses and projects.

Tell us about your project

Send a photo, a sketch or a few measurements – you get a fixed price before we start.
